A small, selective roster. Every new officer goes through the same field training, whatever their experience.

Can I be in another department too?

Yes. BPD is an auxiliary department: officers can also serve in the Sheriff's Office and the Highway Patrol.

What is the activity requirement?

90 minutes of shift time per calendar month. File a leave of absence on the personnel site if you'll be away.

How does the department choose?

Hiring is based on need, maturity and standing in the community, not experience alone. Grammar and detail in your application count.

  1. 01
    Application

Fill out the BPD Officer Application on this site. Command staff review it.

  2. 02
    Accepted

You're added to the roster as an Officer in Training with your call sign, and your Discord roles and nickname are set for you.

  3. 03
    Study

Read the Officer Handbook and everything under Resources on the personnel site.

  4. 04
    Ride-along

Request a time on the personnel site. A Field Training Officer patrols with you for about 45 minutes.

  5. 05
    Patrol Officer

Pass and you're released to patrol on your own.
