About the department
Who we are
Courtesy, service and safety for the Town of Belleair.
The Belleair Police Department is an accredited municipal police department responsible for public safety services in the Town of Belleair. The department responds to all emergency and non-emergency calls and provides code enforcement services to the town.
BPD is an auxiliary department: officers can also serve in the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Highway Patrol. The department keeps a small roster of fifteen officers and hires based on need, maturity and standing in the community, not experience alone.
Pursuant to Town Code Section 1.01, the department provides law enforcement services within the town limits. BPD has legal jurisdiction anywhere in District 2 and has agreed to primarily remain inside Fairview.
Mission
To serve the Town of Belleair with courtesy, service and safety: safeguarding lives and property, upholding the rights of everyone we serve, and holding ourselves to the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and accountability on and off duty.
